Jensen’s work ranges from figure-ground painting to stylized found-object
assemblage. By juxtaposing recycled objects and images in a reliquary
format, she references the relationship between our man-made
environment and the human unconscious. Her work achieves a
contingency between form and content while blurring the boundary
between abstract and representational imagery. After writing a thesis on
light artist, James Turrell, Jensen was inspired to incorporate light as a
medium into the sculptural pieces. These light-fused works can function as
individual objects or can be conformed into larger installations. The
added element of illumination transforms our conception of what is a
normal avenue to the sublime.
